You are invited to participate in a project where the aim is to investigate whether Counter-Strike 2 gameplay can be used to identify players based on behavioral biometrics (mouse movement patterns and key-press timing). For detection of cheaters and smurfing through correlating multiple accounts to the same player. Your CS2 match demos will be used to extract behavioral features and to build and evaluate identification models. Results will be used for academic purposes only (thesis, presentations, and scientific publications).
NTNU is responsible for the personal data processed in the project. Demos and derived data are stored securely on NTNU infrastructure in Norway. Access is restricted to the researcher and authorized NTNU staff.
We will only use data about you for the purposes described in this letter. We will process personal data confidentially and in accordance with data protection legislation
By registrating, you voluntarily provide the information necessary to automatically collect your CS2 match demos via Steam (using your latest share code, auth code, and SteamID). Only Wingman, Competitive, and Premier matches are collected. After registration, collection runs in the background without any further action required from you. There will be no negative consequences if you do not want to participate or if you later request to have your personal data deleted.
Demos are collected in a similar manner to services like Leetify.
All registered participants are automatically entered into a 300€ giveaway split between six winners (50€ skin each). Each submitted match counts as one additional entry. Winners are contacted by email; prizes are drawn on 20 December 2025 and 30 April 2026.
